DRIVER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN A5 RTC
A man has sustained serious injuries following a collision on the A5 Westbound in Upton Magna this morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 6.24am to a collision involving one car on the A5 Westbound between junctions 7 and 8. One ambulance, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic, a Critical Care Car from Midlands Air Ambulance and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of the car who is believed to have suffered a medical incident at the wheel. He was extricated from the vehicle by the fire service.
“Once extricated, he was assessed by ambulance staff and received advanced trauma care at the scene for serious injuries.
“He was conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital by air ambulance for further treatment.”
