A man has sustained potentially life-threatening injuries following a road traffic collision in Tamworth last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called at 5.20pm to a collision involving a lorry and a cyclist the M42, Junction 10 in Wilnecote, Tamworth. Two ambulances, a paramedic officer, a MERIT trauma doctor and critical care paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we found a man who was the cyclist.
“He was assessed by ambulance staff and had sustained potentially life-threatening injuries.
“He received advanced trauma care from ambulance staff at the scene which continued en route to Queen Elizabeth Hospital where he was conveyed under emergency blue light conditions for further treatment.”
“No further patients required treatment from ambulance staff.”
