A teenage girl has sustained life-threatening injuries following a road traffic collision in Cannock last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the incident involving a car and a pushbike on Hemlock Way at 6.34pm and sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers, one of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity's Critical Care Car and a Patient Transport Service High Dependency crew to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “On arrival crews discovered the cyclist, a teenage girl, who was being cared for by an off-duty paramedic who had come across the incident.
“She was in a critical condition. Crews administered advanced life support at the scene.
“Treatment continued en route to Birmingham Childrens Hospital.”
“The driver of the car did not require treatment.”
