A man is in a serious condition following a road traffic collision on the A50 near Cresswell in Stoke-on-Trent last night.
West Midlands Ambulance Service received a 999 call at 7.06pm (Tuesday 10th December) reporting a collision between a HGV and a van on the eastbound carriageway of the A50, Cresswell. A paramedic officer, a North Staffordshire BASICS doctor, a critical care car from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and two ambulances responded to the scene. Two off duty nurses were also on scene rendering aid.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived on scene they found a HGV which had collided with a van. A man, who was out of the van, was assessed and found with serious injuries. The team of ambulance staff worked quickly together to provide advanced trauma care on scene to stabilise his condition before being conveyed on blue lights to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further emergency care.”
