Two men have been treated and taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two-car RTC in Staffordshire this morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to the A460 Hednesford Road, between Hednesford and Rugeley, at 6.28am and sent two ambulances, two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor with a critical care paramedic and the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity Critical Care Car to the scene. An off-duty student paramedic and off-duty police officer also stopped to offer assistance.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews discovered two cars that had both suffered front end damage and two patients, both of whom were men and the drivers of each car.
“One of the men was trapped as a result of the collision and ambulance staff worked closely with colleagues from the fire service to help cut him free.
“Both men were found to have suffered serious injuries and received specialist trauma care which continued as they were transported to Royal Stoke University Hospital.”
