Four people were taken to hospital, two with serious injuries, after being involved in a single car road traffic collision in Wednesbury last night.
We were called by West Midlands Police at 8.19pm on Sunday (3rd November 2024) to reports of a serious single car RTC on Woden Road South, Wednesbury. Two paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma team, four ambulances and a critical care car from Midlands Air Ambulance Charity responded to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Ambulance staff arrived at the scene to find a car on its roof after reportedly colliding with street furniture. The team worked quickly to assess the five occupants of the car.
“One man was in a critical condition and received advanced trauma care to stabilise his condition before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.
“A second man sustained potentially life changing injuries which also required trauma care on scene before being alerted to the same hospital for specialist care.
“Two other men were assessed and treated for less serious injuries before being conveyed to Walsall Manor Hospital.
“The fifth occupant, a woman, was uninjured.”
