A man has sustained very serious injuries following a collision in Erdington this morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called just after 6am to a collision involving a car and a tree at the junction of Abbotts Road and Tyburn Road in Erdington. Two ambulances, two paramedic officers, the WMAS Critical Care Car and a Critical Care Car from The Air Ambulance Service attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival we found a man who was the driver of the car. He was extricated from the vehicle by the fire service.
“Once extricated, he was assessed by ambulance staff and has sustained very serious injuries. He received advanced trauma care from ambulance staff at the scene.
“He was conveyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for further treatment.”
