A woman has sadly died after the car she was in collided with a tree this morning.
West Midlands Ambulance Service was called to Hill Lane in Wythall, Birmingham, at 9.20am today after a passer-by came across the collision and stopped to help. Two ambulances, a BASICS doctor, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford with a MERIT trauma doctor on board attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “Upon arrival ambulance staff found a member of the public performing CPR on the woman. Staff and medics took over resuscitation efforts and commenced advanced life support at the roadside. Despite the best efforts of the passer-by and ambulance staff it was not possible to save the woman and she was confirmed dead on the scene.”
