A woman who came off her bicycle this morning has been rushed to a major trauma centre after suffering serious injuries.
West Midlands Ambulance Service received a 999 call to Bates Hill in Redditch shortly before midday this morning (Tuesday). An ambulance, a responder paramedic and two Midlands Air Ambulances, one with a MERIT trauma doctor on board, attended the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokeswoman said: “When ambulance staff arrived they were told the woman, believed to be in her 20s, was thrown over the handlebars of her bicycle and had landed on the road.
“The woman suffered serious injuries and require advanced trauma care on scene by the team of ambulance staff. The woman was transferred to the land ambulance before being conveyed on blue lights to Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham for further emergency care.”
