Wednesday 8th March 2017

Location: Moseley and Wichenford, Worcestershire

Date and time: Mar 07, 4:20 PM, 2017

A motorcyclist has been airlifted to a major trauma centre with multiple injuries after a crash on a country road.

The incident happened at about 4.20pm on Tuesday afternoon on the road between Moseley and Wichenford in Worcestershire.

Initial reports suggested the patient was in an extremely serious condition after colliding with a telegraph pole so a rapid response vehicle, an ambulance, a paramedic area support officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent.

A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “On arrival, the patient was assessed and found to be in a critical condition.  The ambulance staff immediately requested a doctor and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Cosford was also dispatched with a trauma doctor on board.

“The man, believed to be in his 30s, had suffered multiple injuries and was treated at the scene.  After being immobilised he was airlifted to the major trauma centre at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham.”
