A female motorcyclist has suffered serious injuries after a collision with a car on the southbound M5.
It happened on the southbound carriageway between junctions five and six near Oddingley in Worcestershire at around 5.30pm on Friday afternoon.
An ambulance, a paramedic officer, the Midlands Air Ambulance Critical Care Car from Worcester and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham were sent to the scene.
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman, said: “On arrival, ambulance staff found the middle aged woman on the carriageway with serious multiple injuries.
She was treated at the scene, before the air ambulance, which had initially landed in a field next to the motorway was repositioned onto the northbound carriageway.
“The woman was then airlifted to the major trauma centre at Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham where medics were on standby to receive her.
“There were no other patients.”
