Dr Mark Nash - Medical Director

Dr Mark Nash has worked with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity since 2007 as a Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine Doctor. Due to his commitment to excellent clinical standards, he has held the position of the organisations Medical Director since 2022. His dedication and commitment helped the charity achieve an overall ‘Outstanding’ rating from the Care Quality Commission (CQC) in 2024.

In addition to Mark’s role with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, he is a senior Consultant Anaesthetist with a specialist interest in major trauma at the University Hospitals of North Midlands, a role he has held since 2005.

He originally trained in London and the South of England, including a registrar position with London’s Air Ambulance, creating and delivering the Critical Care Paramedic programme at the University of Hertfordshire for more than 10 years and serving as a Captain in the Royal Army Medical Corps Territorial Army Reserves for five years.

In addition to his substantive responsibilities, Mark is Chairman of the North Staffordshire BASICS scheme and holds the position of Medical Advisor for West Midlands Ambulance Service (WMAS).

Beyond his professional commitments, Mark enjoys gardening and DIY, traveling on cruises, and spending quality time with his three sons and wife.
