Barratt Homes West Midlands Raises £23,000 for Air Ambulance Charity

Thursday 15th August 2024

A Halesowen-based housebuilder surpassed its fundraising target as it raised more than £23,000 for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.

The team from Barratt Homes West Midlands came together alongside subcontractor companies for its annual golf tournament at Redditch Golf Club.

The sunny July day saw more than 22 participating teams, with Clarkson Evans emerging as the victors as £23,342 was raised.

The event was sponsored by Fisher Carpentry, Friel Construction, RR Groundworks Ltd, Saint Flooring and Shannonside Civil Engineering Ltd.

Jon Cottrell, senior partnerships executive for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: "A huge thank you to Barratt Homes and to everyone who took part in their annual golf tournament.

"The incredible amount raised will make a lifesaving difference to our clinical service, funding future missions to reach and treat those in critical need."

The charity oversees the running of three air ambulance helicopters, and a fleet of critical care cars across six counties, including the West Midlands.

Since its launch in 1991, the charity has responded to over 75,000 missions.

The charity requires between £13 and £14 million each year to maintain its operations and keep the life-saving equipment on board.

Charity representatives attended the charity event, seeing each participant take on the 18 holes.

Adrian Evans, managing director at the housebuilder, said: "We are proud to arrange our charity golf day once again to raise funds for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, which is an extremely vital service and our charity of the year.

“The organisation is certainly deserving of all the support we can offer. This donation has been made possible through the generosity of our subcontractors and employees that took part, and we truly appreciate all of their fundraising efforts.”
