Gulshan Radio, the first and only Asian radio station in the city of Wolverhampton, fundraised for local lifesaving cause, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity and raised a staggering £1,111.11 in just 11 days by Gulshan Dhingra undertaking a continuous non-stop radio marathon lasting 11 hours and 11 minutes on the 11th July 2020.
The popular Asian local community radio station kindly asked its listeners to get involved with raising money to help fund the rapid response, pre-hospital emergency medical service, and they generously responded.
Upwards of £1,111 was raised across an 11-day period, funding five critical care car missions.
Lali Liddar, finance director of Gulshan Radio, said: “We knew we’d set a challenging fundraising goal, and the team and I appreciate the kindness and generosity shown by so many listeners in our local community for helping the radio station achieve the fundraising target that was originally set by Gulshan Radio’s Managing Director Gulshan Dhingra.”
Emma Gray, fundraising and marketing director for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, states: “We are grateful for local community groups, like Gulshan Radio, for their help and support, especially during these unprecedented times.
“The significant amount raised will potentially help our lifesaving service save a further five lives.”
