Outdoor experts, JD Outdoor has collaborated with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity to provide bespoke branded OEX jackets.
The vitally important pre-hospital service has received a donation of more than 220 deluxe waterproof and down jackets.
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity has been operating for more than 30 years and rapidly brings advanced skills, medicines and hospital-level equipment to the patient at the scene of the incident, helping to give them the best possible chance of survival and recovery.
The charity started in 1991 and since then has undertaken more than 74,000 missions in its fleet of air ambulance helicopters and critical care cars, making the organisation one of the busiest pre-hospital air ambulance-led services in the UK.
As a service, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity covers six Midlands counties: Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire (including Stoke-on-Trent), the West Midlands and Worcestershire. With a population of more than six million people and a busy motorway network bringing more people to the region, this constitutes the largest air ambulance operating patch within the UK.
Lee Bagnall, CEO of JD Outdoor, comments: “Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s crews are heroic in their actions, attending more than 4,000 patients a year and giving those critically unwell or injured the very best chance of survival. It is an honour to work with the team, and by donating jackets we hope to reduce costs, which can instead be invested into its core purpose. As an organisation that is reliant on donations, working with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity means that any funds raised can be directed saving lives.
“Our OEX jackets provide a warm, waterproof and comfortable uniform for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity's crew and staff, allowing them to work in all weather conditions.”
Lee continues: “Supporting Midlands Air Ambulance Charity not only supports the crew, but also the well-being of the Midlands community, making a significant impact on the lives of individuals and families facing life-threatening emergencies.”
This is the first charity partnership of its kind by OEX, who look forward to supporting more important causes in the future.
Emma Wood, head of fundraising and engagement for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, adds: “Our advanced clinical team are called out to some of the most traumatic incidents in the region, often facing challenging conditions to get to patients. Having the new OEX jackets, courtesy of JD Outdoor, will greatly help our crews keep warm and dry when rapidly reaching and treating those in critical need, for which we are extremely grateful.”
OEX jackets are available to purchase at both GO Outdoors and Blacks, with the Kintra and Tirran styles used for this collaboration on sale to the public.
