Midlands Air Ambulance Charity
Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, the organisation that relies entirely on donations from the public and local businesses, has revealed Natalie Queiroz from Sutton Coldfield, was the charity’s number one individual JustGiving fundraiser in 2016.
Raising £6,247.70 via the online donation platform, Natalie who was violently attacked while eight months pregnant in March 2016, wanted to thank the charity’s aircrew who helped save her and her daughter’s lives. Thanks to donations from Natalie’s family and friends, she has been able to fund two air ambulance missions.
Natalie came top of over 1,000 people who kindly raised money for the vitally important Midlands Air Ambulance Charity via the JustGiving platform. In addition, she was also in the top one per cent of JustGiving’s overall fundraisers in 2016.
To raise the money, Natalie undertook a gruelling 10km obstacle-filled Wolf Run in September 2016, while still recovering from a number of injuries and with limited use of her left hand.
Natalie said: “That day in March started as any other normal day, then a terrifying attack left me stabbed 24 times and fighting for my life whilst eight months pregnant. A number of people came to my aid, but if it were not for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, all their efforts to save me and my baby would have been in vain. Mine and my baby's lives literally hung by a thread and every second counted to get us to hospital.
“I did the Wolf Run less than six months after the attack as I wanted to do my best to pay the charity back. My supporters were amazing and I would like to publicly thank them for all their donations. As for the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity team, my children still have their mum and we have the littlest addition to our family because of them. Thank you will never be enough.”

Natalie is continuing her fundraising for the charity and during 2017, will take part in a number of activities including the charity’s extreme zip wire challenge and an abseil down the Hampton by Hilton hotel on Broad Street. Each air ambulance mission costs the charity £2,500 on average, and the organisation attends 2,000 incidents each year.
