MAAC has recruited seven new paramedics to its existing team of 21 critical care paramedics, and 25 doctors across its three airbases.
The new recruits undertook a recruitment process comprising a fitness test, written exam, trauma and medical scenarios and team challenges, before being shortlisted for a formal interview.
Ian Roberts, air operations manager for MAAC explains: “30 candidates were shortlisted to attend two recruitment days held at our RAF Cosford airbase”.
“They undertook a series of challenges including a live trauma and medical scenario, where they were given a brief on the patient’s condition and expected to act out the treatment they would provide with a verbal explanation on their rationale.
“We are really pleased that seven outstanding candidates have been successfully recruited and they are now undertaking specialist technical and critical care academic training. We officially welcome them to the team.”
