Midlands Air Ambulance Charity (MAAC), in partnership with longstanding supporter, M6toll, is inviting all secondary schools in the region to register their interest in the MAAC Moguls business initiative.
M6toll has worked collaboratively with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity for several years on campaigns that target the education sector. With an established schools’ programme that provides Early Years and Foundation Stage and Key Stages One and Two teaching staff with education materials, in line with the National Curriculum, the partners are now expanding into secondary schools with the MAAC Moguls project.
MAAC Moguls is a Dragons’ Den style competition that will see top business leaders based across the six counties that the charity serves, challenge teams of students on their entrepreneurial plans to raise £500 for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity. To date 15 schools have already signed up, and the MAAC Moguls are inviting secondary school pupils and teachers to sign up to support their business acumen and learning.
The initiative will enable students, across the West Midlands, the chance to develop skills in areas which include negotiating, pitching and selling, as well as being allowed creative licence to generate new ideas, all whilst gaining experience of working alongside some of the region’s most influential business leaders.
The charity and partner, M6toll, are inviting any secondary school from across the charity’s operational patch, including the counties of Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Shropshire, Staffordshire, the West Midlands and Worcestershire, with willing secondary school students to get involved. Register your interest by visiting the MAAC Moguls webpage.
Pam Hodgetts, corporate partnerships manager for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We are dedicated to creating futures for our patients, but also helping to support the education of future critical care paramedics, doctors, fundraisers and pilots, which is why we launched MAAC Moguls with M6toll.
“We are pleased to have the continued support of the West Midlands’ leading business firms to make the MAAC Moguls campaign such a valued initiative. Without their support, our daily missions would not be possible.”
Sarah Loizou, HR and business services director for M6toll added: “We are extremely proud to be partnering this exciting initiative with Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, it is unfortunate that the start date for the scheme had to be pushed back due to Covid-19 restrictions within schools; however the additional time will allow more schools the opportunity to take part and register their interest in this fantastic opportunity.”
Leaders from companies across the West Midlands taking part include Jessica Wilkes-Ball, social responsibility lead for Wesleyan Assurance Society; Lewis Yildirim, flagship bank manager at TSB Bank; Toby Railton, finance manager for Barratts Homes West Midlands; Dave Parry, chief people officer for Gymshark; Karen Larkin, HR business partner for M6toll; and Olly Craughan, head of corporate social responsibility for DPD UK.
