Pallet-Track team cycled nearly 120 miles in three days for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
The nine strong team of riders, including chief executive, Caroline Green, took to their saddles on Saturday and Sunday, 24 and 25 June, cycling more than 120 miles to raise money for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity.
The intrepid team, made up of riders from across the network and from Pallet-Track, started out at its member AFFA, located in Oxfordshire, cycling South towards Downes Transport in Wiltshire and back again.
The charity, which operates across six Midlands counties, is responsible for funding and operating three air ambulances and three critical care cars across the largest air ambulance operating region in the UK.
Caroline Green said: “I am incredibly proud of the efforts of the team and delighted that we successfully completed this challenge for our charity of the year.
“It was a challenging two days for the team as we powered through a total elevation of 6,725 feet and battled soaring temperatures with little breeze for relief.
“The single gravel track roads through the winding countryside made for an unsteady path, however, it did not deter our high spirits and determination to get to the end.
“It wasn’t easy, but knowing we were on track to reach our fundraising target for such a great cause helped us support each other across the finishing line.”
Pallet-Track’s fundraising efforts have seen them raise £4,120 so far, with donations still coming in. This equates to five lifesaving missions for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity – one air ambulance helicopter and four in the pre-hospital emergency service’s critical care cars.
Jon Cottrell, senior partnerships executive for Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, said: “We are delighted to continue receiving great fundraising support from Pallet-Track. The team’s determination to keep bringing in the funds is very admirable.
“We rely solely on kind donations gifted by those in the local communities we serve to continue making our daily lifesaving missions possible. It’s thanks to businesses, like Pallet-Track, which enable us to continue saving lives.”
