The team at Claire Dyson Racing and Rehabilitation, based in Cleeve Prior in Worcestershire, has marked 12 years of continued commitment to Midlands Air Ambulance Charity by sponsoring a race at Stratford Racecourse.
Business owner Claire Dyson’s stalwart support of the local pre-hospital emergency service is in memory of Charlotte Cole, former head girl of Claire Dyson Racing and Rehabilitation. Charlotte was sadly involved in a horse-related incident in 2011, and despite the best efforts of Midlands Air Ambulance Charity’s advanced clinicians on scene, she later died in hospital.
The race day helped to raise the profile of the charity among the equestrian community and also raised funds towards future missions as, unfortunately, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity is called out to a horse rider every four days on average. The total fundraising figure from the last 12 years in Charlotte Cole’s memory now stands at £110,000, which has supported the charity’s vital mission to rapidly reach and treat those in critical need of advanced patient care.

Charlotte’s parents, Roger and Diane Cole, were presented with a commemorative framed photo at the race day. The image is of Charlotte’s signature, which is inscribed on the air ambulance helicopter that attended their daughter all those years ago.
Claire Dyson, on behalf of Claire Dyson Racing and Rehabilitation and the Cole family, said: “The equestrian community knows only too well the importance of the air ambulance. We work and train in remote locations and unfortunately horse-related incidents often leave someone in a critical condition. My team and I are proud to have supported Midlands Air Ambulance Charity for the past 12 years to reach the milestone of £110,000 alongside Roger and Diane Cole. We know our efforts will help others in desperate need of advanced clinical care.”

The relationship has helped to raise awareness of the importance of supporting our service, and the collective donations over the last 12 years has enabled us to assist more than 65 patients in their critical hour of need at the scene of their incident.”
